2nd Nicaraguan Cigar Festival April 5-9
Nicaragua’s ANP, Nicaraguan Cigar Association, is hosting its second cigar festival at the start of April.(March 20, 2011) The festival this year will be more focused on the fields, says Association President Nestor Plasencia Jr.
This year’s festival will be centered around a day long excursion to the remote tobacco fields in Jalapa where participants will have the opportunity to take in the splendor of the countryside while witnessing the tobacco growing and curing processes.
Companies involved this year include Padron, Plasencia, Oliva, My Father Cigars, Joya de Nicaragua, AJ Fernandez, Scandanavian Tobacco Group, Drew Estate, SR, NACSA, GK, Nicaprosa, and Tavicusa S.A. Alongside the Tobacco Industry is the local and national government of Nicaragua who will be hosting cocktails, dinners and featuring the crowning of “Miss Tobacco.” Miss Tobacco is a pageant where competitors from each factory will vie for the crown.
The purpose of this festival is to promote and celebrate the Nicaraguan Cigar Industry.
